Yenagoa:Banks shut down over residents planned Protests

Residents in Bayelsa state on Monday, were rendered stranded as banking operations were shut down in the state capital.

A reliable source revealed that the banks had to put on hold their services due to a planned peaceful protest by some residents of the state following the scarcity in accessing the redesigned naira notes.

Some residents who spoke with our Correspondent, noted with displeasure that the inactivity of banks in the State has left them with no choice but to deal with the point of sales operators.Residents in Bayelsa state decries the impact of the redesigned naira notes

While others lamented on the hardship accompanied with accessing the new currency.

They futher called on the federal government to look into to the crisis of the banking sector and ensure that citizens are salvaged from the hardship they are experiencing as a result of the redesigned notes.
