Residents in Bayelsa state decries the impact of the redesigned naira notes

Residents in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital, have called on the Central Bank of Nigeria to checkmate activities in banks and point of sales centres in the state.

A tour round some banks in the State capital, saw some residents gloom with frustration at various automated teller machine centres due to the difficulty in getting cash withdrawal.Naira Redesign : Supreme Court Suspends FG February 10 Deadline

While another resident was seen registering his complaint to the commercial bank operators for getting debited on failed transactions as a result of network errors.

Some other residents also frowned at various financial institutions of the state for releasing the sum of five thousand naira only at the counter, as against the Central Bank of Nigeria revised cash weekly withdrawal limit for individuals and corporate organizations.

They further appealed to the Central Bank of Nigeria to look into the activities in the banking sector and resolve the current challenges experienced by the people in accessing the redesigned naira notes.
