Parents Warned Against Child Stereotyping

Parents have warned against labelling any child or ward under their care as possessing witchcraft.

High Court Justice in Calabar, the Cross Rivers State capital, Justice Agnes Onyebuike came out with this after sentencing one Mr. Festus Ayanime for labelling and killing his children whom he said were witches hindering hos progress in life.

The High Court Justice said labelling anyone as a witch or wizard is a demonic act and parents are should desist from it as they are suppose to protect the lives of their children.

Parents should work hard to provide the basic necessities of food, clothing and shelter for their children and not see them as the cause of their poverty.

Also, clergymen and spiritualists were also warned to stop deceiving those under their leadership into causing bodily harm or killing of any person labelled as having witchcraft.
