Traffic Warders are expected to check vehicle owners to ensure that they do not park wrongly in a place or park in a place for a longer time than is allowed, these offences could attract a fine.

However, in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, traffic warders who are carrying out these duties have received a lot of condemnations,
they are being seen as oppressing vehicle owners particularly tricycle operators.

Some tricycle operators popularly known as Keke in have decried the activities of traffic warders as they carry out their business.

Many of them said the road officials use their position of authority to extort money from them as payment of fine for wrong parking.

They noted that Yenagoa does not have many designated bus stops and due to the pressure from their passengers on alighting, they sometimes park wrongly.

They appealed the government to restructure the Yenagoa City and create bus stops to solve the issue.
