NUJ Edo Partners with Government to Stamp Out Fake News

The Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ in Edo state is working in collaboration with the state government to fight against false reports showcasing some projects of the present administration led by Governor Godwin Obaseki.

The said this collaboration is aimed at improving the livelihood of the people and achieving economic prosperity for the state.

The Edo State NUJ embarked on a tour of projects across the three Senatorial districts of the state to visit some of the government projects inorder to stop wrong information from spreading by quacks in the profession.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Media Projects, Mr Crusoe Osagie disclosed this during the flag off for the media tour at the NUJ secretariat in Benin City.

He noted that the government that the government has embarked on several transformational projects across the state.

Mr Osagie said the media tour would further bring some of the projects to the knowledge of the public and correct false narratives spread by untrained journalists.

He pointed out that this would enable journalists to inform the public on what the government has done for the interest of the people of the state.

The leadership of the Edo State NUJ, appreciated the state government for the media tour to see all projects both completed and ongoing projects in the state.
