Elesho who is a 23 year old second year student at the University of Ibadan, Oyo state beat nine other finalists to get a whooping sum of one million naira.
Speaking during the event held in Yenagoa the Bayelsa State capital, Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engineer Simbi Wabote congratulated all the top ten finalists for the efforts they put into writing the essays after the over two thousand applications they received.
Engineer Wabote who was represented by Barr. Esueme Dan-Kikile, Head Corporate Communications, NCDMB noted that the undergraduate essay competition was aimed at promoting the writing skills, analytical and research conduct potentials of young Nigerian undergraduates in the public and private universities and polytechnics in the country.
Also speaking, Chairman of the occasion, Senator Inatimi Rufus Spiff while congratulating the finalists encouraged young persons to use their potentials positively.
In his welcome address, Chief Executive Officer, Mahogany 21st Century Concepts, Mr Eyinimi Omorozi welcomed all those present at the event and expressed appreciation to the management of NCDMB for the initiative to stimulate academic excellence among Nigerian undergraduates.
The top ten finalists of the Award and Prize giving ceremony all went home with laptops and other interesting items.
