Retired Federal Permanent Secretary and former Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government, Dr Boladei Godknows Igali, has been urged to take solace in the fact that his late mother, Ma Fanny Igali, who recently passed on to eternity, lived a fulfilled life and was a blessing to all who crossed her path regardless of creed, tribe or tongue.
Second National Vice President of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), Chief Nengi James-Ereworio, stated this on behalf of several groups who throng the Opolo-Yenagoa residence of Dr Igali on Tusday, to condole with him over his octogenarian mother’s demise.

She was described as a nationalist with a patriotic soul whose love for people went beyond pecuniary affiliations and as such, his son, Dr Igali, a diplomat, has imbibed her virtues of being a blessing to so many who crossed his path, hence the calibre of condolence visits and commiserations pouring in from near and far.
Chief James-Ereworio, acknowledged the role of Dr Igali as a present leading voice for the Ijaw nation urging him to be comforted by these prized show of solidarity and empathy as a sign of the legacies and fulfilled life his late mother lived.
Others including her kinsmen from Oporoma, elders, monarchs, Environmental Rights Activist – Comrade Morris Alagoa; Chief Executive Officer of Protege Publishers – Comrade Amatare Mozímo and his counterpart, Mr. Diete Filatei, and other members of the University of Port Harcourt Alumni, joined in commiserating with Dr Igali as they prayed for the repose of Ma Fanny’s soul looking forward to the resurrection morning when we shall all meet to part no more.
In his solemn responses to the torrents of condolences pouring in, Amb. Dr Igali, appreciated all who have found time to console with him and the Igali family over the loss of their matriarch, with their presence and other means – online and offline!

He reeled out glowing attributes of his late mother to include her industrious nature as a home maker endeared to many adherents in the old Rivers State in the early 60s, through the 70s to 90s, adding that she was educated and even schooled abroad in the United Kingdom bagging a degree in Cartering and Hospitality.
Dr Igali eulogised his late mother as one who enjoyed cooking and her culinary skills were second to known, adding that Ma Fanny impacted in the lives and education of many by always encouraging young ones around her to get to the highest pedestal of education regardless of financial incumbrances which she was able to direct and abate with limited resources at her disposals as of when such arose.
After a photograph session with the first throng of various groups early at his residence on Tuesday, more dignitaries were seen trouping in droves to also pay their condolences.
They included the members of the Bayelsa State Executive Cabinet led by His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Asembly, Rt. hon. Abraham Ngobere, Honourable Commissioners and other members of the State House of Assembly.
Others were the Federal Amnesty Sole Administrator, Col. Milland Dikio (Rtd) and an APC Chieftain with his entourage Chief Timpa Tiwei Orunimieghe, were all sighted on another round of condolences to mark day four of the traditional burial rites in honour of Ma Fanny Igali, who passed on Friday, July 29th 2022.
She was a devote christian of the Deeper Christian Life Faith. Details of her final obsequies shall be made public in earnest.
