INC appeals to Delta government on road rehabilitation

The leadership of the Ijaw National Council, INC has appealed to the Delta state government to take measures in rehabilitating sections of some roads and bridges in Ijaw territories of the state.

INC Chairman, Professor Benjamin Okaba made the appeal while speaking to newsmen in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

Professor Okaba who identified some roads such as the Ohoro/Bomadi road, Udeh bridge and others pointed out that there is an urgent need to rehabilitate them as they were severely damaged during the last flood.

While calling for the speedy completion of the Ayakoromo bridge, he stressed that as the Delta state government is commissioning other roads, these bridges and roads in Ijaw territories should be considered as they have become impassable making it difficult for the people to have access to their communities.
