EDO: Youths Lay Siege on NPDC

Some youths in Edo state under the aegis of Concerned Edo youths have shut down the office of the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, NPDC in Benin City over the alleged marginalization of host communities.

The youths drawn from 52 communities barricaded the road to the NPDC office carrying placards with different inscriptions telling the company to put an end to marginalization and adhere to the PIB laws.

Edo: The protesters went further to slaughter a cow at the entrance of the office, cooking rice which they shared among themselves.

Leader of the protesting youths, Mr Okpokan Igonovia said the host communities have not felt the impact of NPDC.

Responding on behalf of the company, Mr Noway Dombra said NPDC would invite the protesters soon to address their grievances.
