Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff F. O. Oborevwori (JP), FICMC,
APPOINTMENT OF MRS LYNA ALIYA OCHOLOR AS PRINCIPAL SECRETARY: LETTER OF COMMENDATION TO HIS EXCELLENCY, RT. HON. (ELDER) SHERIFF F.O.OBOREVWORI (JP), FICMC, EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF DELTA STATE.
Your Excellency, this is to expressly convey that the whole of Ijaw land is in the mood of celebration for the appointment of Lyna Aliya Ocholor, Esq, as your Principal Secretary. The Ijaws are particularly happy that you have regard for women. It is a thing of great joy that in your premiere appointments, an Ijaw daughter is prominently listed. This is the first time, after many years, a woman of Ijaw extraction is considered for a position of such great importance. It gives a positive impression about the disposition of your administration toward the Ijaw nation. It is also a positive signal that you have thoughts about gender balancing in your administration.
We are convinced that you have your ears to the ground. Nothing is more reassuring than when a leader pays heed to the voice of genuine counsel from the people he leads. We suggested Mrs. Lyna Aliya Ocholor to you for the office of Secretary to the State Government (SSG), alongside two eminent Ijaw sons, because of the sterling qualities of integrity, experience, competence and humility she is imbued with. We are delighted that you also spotted these dignifying attributes and have consequently rewarded her with this enviable position.
IYC Leaders of Thought Worldwide Congratulates Favour IZuokumor as Executive Director (DESOPADEC)
Your Excellency, the choice of a modest woman such as Barr. Lyna Aliya Ocholor, who symbolises decency and discipline, to function in that sensitive and lofty position as Principal Secretary earns you commendation and confidence from all over Delta State. For us, you have just revealed how fairly you intend to progress with your administration and manage the affairs of the state. It ultimately indicates you have a penchant for quality, competence and credibility. Judging dispassionately from her last assignment as Clerk of the Delta State Assembly, she manifests every positive promise of dressing the office in the rare garbs of excellence and expertise.
While we thank you once again and profusely congratulate the proud daughter of the Ijaw nation, Mrs. Lyna Aliya Ocholor, on this well-deserved appointment, we appeal that you allow the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly to come from the Ijaw ethnic nationality. The Speaker is the position that will make the Ijaw people have an assuring political representation at the leadership level in this government. As a former Speaker, you know the significance of the position to your people: It is an important leadership position. And in a dispensation in which the Ijaw nation has no position of tangible influence and authority, allocation of the Speaker office will be a great consolation. The Ijaw sons in the State Parliament are also willing to serve and ready to lead, but your approval is required for this quest to materialise.
