Amnesty Office: PAP Discountenance fraudulent messages associated with Scholarship Awards

The Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) has distanced itself from an alleged fraudulent message being circulated online, notifying persons of a scholarship award and inviting unsuspecting individuals to attend a fake verification exercise.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media to the Interim Administrator of the Amnesty Programme,Freston Akpor, discountenanced such fraudulent activities.

It also advised all stakeholders and members of the public to disregard the purported message.PAP Suspends Scholarships Of Two Amnesty Students

The statement further notes that the PAP has established channels via which it puts out information and urges all stakeholders and the general public to be catious of such fraudulent messages.

It also states that the PAP is yet to resume award of fresh scholarships, adding that the public will be duly notified through the appropriate relevant channels when the scholarship award programme recommences.
